SugarFoot taking the plunge!!
We get irrigation water every 18 days. The girls love their pool party!! They are so much fun to watch when they play in the irrigation ditch! They run back and forth bucking and kicking up their heels! Laying and rolling in the water then diving back in for another dip in the water. They will sometimes lay in the water for 15 to 30 minutes. Oh, what fun it is on pool party day!! I set up my chair and just watch them play. Summer Fun!!
Muffet says move it!! Its my turn!!
Hey.. Stop pushing me!! I'm gonna tell Mama Peggy on you!!

Calfie with her nose in the beer box
This bottle fed calf..named Calfie doesn't think that she is a calf. She thinks that she is a dog, an alpaca, and a cat. Jenny the dog and her 4 month old pup Junnie, give Calfie a face washing and ear cleaning when calfie is laying down. Calfie just closes her eyes and the dogs on each side of her... lick her ears and face and eyes all clean. The cat even gets in on it too... by laying on top of her and kneading (massaging) her back. What a spoiled but LOVED calf. Calfie runs and plays with the alpacas also...they are her family too. They have the run of the property. They all sleep by each other and the dogs watch over them as ther sleep at night.
We had a family get together in the house and it was hot outside so we had the doors open. Well...guess who came in to visit with everyone...yup..you got it Miss Calfie. She walked in the house and checked everything out... then went out with her animals buddies. She is the most LOVED calf in the world.
She also tries to get in the truck and go for a ride...I think not...lol...don't need a lap calf..hehe
I hope that you enjoy the precious photos of this part of our family. I guess you can see that this calf will be spared from the butcher shop. We are training her to lead and give the Grandsons rides on her back.
Calfie is a very happy calf. And she greets everyone that visits the ranch.

Bryce loves to hand feed the baby's it tickles his hands..lol.and he loves fluffing up the hay in the feeder for them. As well as raking and helping scoop pooh. He's quite the little helper. Bryce also loves feeding the hens and his bunny "Bibbit".
Best job that he likes is riding in the hay wagon.

Grandma I fed the pacas for ya can I ride on the hay and feed the girls now?
My 22 month old Grandson Bryce loves helping Grandma feed the chickens and the pacas every morning. Bryce loves to chase after our young rooster..the rooster I think likes the attention..hehe Then Bryce found a broken rake and rode his horse around ..so I grabbed the first thing I could find...a shovel and we rode our stick horses around the apple trees, while the alpacas and the chickens looked at us like we were crazy. But..my Grandson looked at me with the biggest grin on his face... because I was ridng with him on our trusty steeds. Great new memory and a great Grandson morning....one of many more fun mornings to come. This time I will make us both a real cute stick horse:)
We all need to soak up these special moments while they are still young and innocent.
Well I fed the chickens Grandma..I'm a good cowboy
Grandma...I just found me a horse..can i keep him?
Wo..I am growing so fast that I just grew a mustache just like Papa Dean's...he he

Hey Good Lookin' do ya want to play?
Feeling kinda down...I went out into the pasture last night... sat down and I was watching the pacas at play. Luckily...I was able to catch little Shadow trying to get Miss Muffet to play.
Well..they did play for a for awhile. And they kept me in stitches!! Cheering me up :)
It really does look like Muffet is biting Shadow hard...but she was just playing with him.
She loves all of the baby's and plays most of the time with them.
I could not pass up putting these photos together and making a little story about them. Especially after I downloaded the photos and seeing the silly photos that I took of them.
It tickled my funny bone...so I wanted to share just how special alpacas are, and how funny they can be at times, especially in the evening when they get playful.
They really know how to put a smile on my face when I was feeling down. I think they sense.... when they need to put on their clown faces to cheer us up.
I love our Alpacas Family!!!
Go away..NO! I don't want to play!!
Ohh..please!! I just want to play :)
YUCK!!..you don't have to spit!! Fine we won't play then.
Whew!!! that stinks...I'll check her off my dating list!!

HELP!! Momma Peggy I'm Stuck!!
The other morning... on May 14th, I got up early in the morning to go out and take photos of all the alpacas in full fleece, before shearing the next morning. Well ....when I got to the last pasture this is what I saw. TC stuck in the fence. I giggled so hard at him. He is our clown on the ranch!! TC is always up to something and this was a dooozy!! He calmly hummed at me...with his head down in shame...busted!!! Big time!!
I had a very hard time getting his head out because he is so big and so fleecy. I had to carefully pull his ears through...then a few strands at a time, of his topnot...little by little...then I was able to turn his head sideways and I put my knee on his chest to push him back and out of the fencing. I couldn't cut the fencing because its too hefty to cut. His topnot is soooooo dense...that is what was not letting him pull his head out himself.
TC has enough fleece on him to make up three alpacas!! No joke!!
It ruffeled his feathers but he's no worse for the wear. He looked at me after he was out,.....like he was thankful..but...very embarrassed. I just hugged him, told him that I love him, and told him that I was happy that he wasn't hurt.
I am just thankful that he is such a calm boy....the other pacas would have panicked and they would have broken their necks!!
But...TC is such a lover!! with a cool head....He surely keeps the ranch smiling!!
All is well now until one of his next anticks....giggle!!
Does this fence make me look fat? LOL
That sure messed up my fleece!!!

Wyatt after checking the baby.
My two Grandsons love to help out with our alpacas when they are having their baby's.
They like to see how we keep records and listen to the heart beats of the baby's.
Wyatt the oldest Grandson was really having fun learing how to listen to his little brothers heart beat... after they both got to listen to the cria's heart beat in the back ground.
Both boys gave the baby its check-up.
Our future alpaca Veterinarian's!!
You are never too young to learn about animals.
I think these photos are priceless!!!
